Patricia Kholopa (43), an Early Childhood Development Practitioner, was born and raised in Venda, Limpopo. She started her Early Childhood Development journey in Tembisa in 2018. Staying in Tembisa with her husband and four boys, Patricia found out about Rhiza Babuyile from a forum that was hosted by the Department of Social Development. She later enrolled to complete her Level 3 and Level 4 Early Childhood Development course in 2019 and 2021 respectively with Rhiza Babuyile. Her motivation was to empower herself and enhance her offering for her children and their parents.
This along with learning how to create lesson plans that encourages children’s development, Patricia feel she has improved her professionalism and deliverables. She says that she has learned to treat her Centre as business, bringing positive change to herself personally and her beneficiaries.
Patricia hopes to one day open a second Centre in another location. She said, “The word of God encourages me to continue on”. This aids her in having to manage different parents and their children.
Patricia’s Centre, Good Smart Start Day Care, is one the Early Childhood Development Centre’s that was upgraded by Rhiza Babuyile. Rhiza Babuyile provided the Centre with infrastructure such as Baby Cots, Changing Stations, a Jungle gym, Kitchen Cupboards, Educational Toys, Stationary and Story books for the children. Patricia’s story exemplifies how Rhiza Babuyile can help one cover their own blind spots that they may not see.
