HEALTHCARE

A Right, Not a Privilege

Healthcare is one of our four core focus areas and a critical pillar of our mission to reduce inequality and bring essential services to underserved township communities. Our mobile clinics travel directly to the people who need them most, bridging the gap where formal health infrastructure falls short.

Our mobile clinics programme is currently active across seven provinces, delivering services in Gauteng, North-West, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, the Free State, KwaZulu‑Natal, and the Western Cape. Through this footprint, the programme brings much‑needed healthcare services directly to communities with limited access to formal health facilities.

Mission

To provide equitable, quality healthcare to underserved communities by addressing immediate health needs while promoting long‑term prevention and wellness.

Objectives

Our mobile clinics programme is built around four clear objectives:

  • Improving access to preventive healthcare services and support the early detection of disease.
  • Aligning programme activities with Department of Health (DoH) services, policies, and priorities.
  • Contribution towards holistic development approach by integrating healthcare with our other programmes, including education, agriculture, and economic development initiatives.
  • Fostering sustainable development and promote community empowerment through local engagement and capacity building.

We work to improve access to preventive healthcare and support the early detection of disease in communities that are often far from formal health facilities. All of our activities are aligned with the Department of Health’s services, policies, and priorities. This ensures that what we do complements and strengthens the existing public health system rather than working in isolation from it.

We believe that health cannot be separated from the broader conditions in which people live. For this reason, our healthcare initiatives are integrated with our wider programmes, including education, agriculture, and skills development, ensuring a truly holistic approach to community wellbeing.

At the heart of our work is a commitment to sustainable development and meaningful community empowerment. Through local engagement and capacity building, we work alongside communities to strengthen systems, build resilience, and support long‑term, self‑sustaining change.

The programme is supported by a dedicated team of professional nurses, community health workers, social workers, data capturers and drivers, strategically based across clinic hubs to ensure continuity of care. Through close collaboration with the Department of Health, we work to extend primary healthcare to communities most often overlooked by the public health system.
