Strengthening The Local Economy
Skills development is a key pillar of our integrated impact model, aimed at improving employability, promoting entrepreneurship, and expanding economic participation in vulnerable township communities. Through targeted training and practical learning pathways, we equip young people and adults with skills that respond to market demand and local opportunities.
Our skills development initiatives focus on work‑ready, accredited and industry‑relevant programmes, particularly in sectors such as technology, systems development, IT support, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship. Unemployed youth aged 18 to 35 can acquire comprehensive and grounded learning experience in various demand driven industries where programmes are designed to bridge the gap between education and employment by combining theoretical learning with hands‑on experience and workplace exposure.
Training is delivered through accessible hubs and community‑based centres, ensuring that opportunities reach young people who may otherwise be excluded from formal skills development pathways. In addition to technical skills, Rhiza places a strong emphasis on soft skills, including professionalism, communication, problem‑solving, and personal development, to better prepare participants for the world of work.
By working closely with partners, employers and accreditation bodies, we ensure that our skills development programmes remain relevant, scalable and aligned with economic realities. Through this approach, we support sustainable livelihoods, build local capacity, and empower individuals to participate meaningfully in the economy.
